CROWN MODELING CLASSES
NB*** - Don't get scammed!!
A model agency's job is to promote you, get you work, and assist you in becoming more
professional, teaching you things you need to know, recommending changes, correcting
your mistakes and working with you, guiding you through the good and bad, ups and downs
of your career choices.
That is the job of an agency, and why 10% of your work is payable to the agency.
Any agency trying to charge you more money for classes or joining is either ripping you off,
or using your fees to stay open. Modeling
refinement is supposed to be taught by the agency without additional payment,
as the model develops.
We are not saying we do not condone all courses, however the
only courses you should need for modeling are A) deportment courses, to learn how to conduct
yourself professionally in society (such as
www.jdw.com.au),
B) make up lessons so you
can do your own make up if you ever need to, or C) acting classes if you are intending to
take your career in that direction. If you do not have an agency representing you then modeling and
catwalk classes would benefit, but if you know you have high potential, (ie you are very fresh looking and
very tall and slender for your age), then holding out to be signed to an agency will save you hundreds
or thousands of dollars.
(Acting is a refined skill and needs to be studied and practiced.
Modeling simply requires beauty, natural talent, a willing, easy going nature with a little professionalism
thrown in!)
You either have 'IT' or you don't. If you have it, it can be developed. If you don't, no amount
of classes will bring you any closer to your dream. To reach your dream you need to get out
there into castings, not sit in a classroom..
The only other expenses you should have are your initial photographs and head shots, either with
the company photographer or one you choose, and the occasional travel expense to castings. Once
you receive a job, travel expenses are usually covered for you. Be very careful which company is
representing you. Ensure your career is in the hands of a reputable agency.
